Paint Organizer 2.0

Paint Organizer 2.0

This weekend I decided to finally put the last few touches on my new paint organizer 2.0. I’ve always hated riffling through boxes filled with paint tubes not being able to find what I needed easily. I wanted some way that I could just simply glance over and see what I had in stock or what I needed to mix together. About last year I created my first paint organizer that consisted of just one plastic storage screw organizer with small color swatches marking the drawers. In the new version I’ve expanded to three screw organizers this time not just organizing by color but also medium. With this new development drawers can be removed and just like the old Pantone color books assist in trying to figure out a rudimentary color pallet before a single drop of paint is wasted. By giving a very basic graduation this also allows as a physical reference to how each color/medium reacts to being diluted.  Changes can be seen in coverage, consistency and sometimes hue. Hopefully this new system should allow for easier mixing and matching of colors and mediums.
